Your privacy is very important to me. I will treat your personal information that you have provided to me at all times with confidentiality and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It’s important that you know how I use any information you provide. 

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, sign up for one of my blog or one of newsletters, sign up for one of my classes, or otherwise use my services.

Please note that all information shared with me on my website is shared via a secure connection, also known as an SSL. This means that no one is able to access your information except for me and/or others that may help handle my business affairs.

What personal information do we collect and why?

 

On my website I will collect personal information that you give to me and also data that is automatically collected. For instance, when you sign up for my blog or newsletter, or any other form on my website, you may be asked to enter your first and last name, and your email address. You will be asked what list you would like to sign up for (all updates, auction updates, new art work, new classes) for example.

 

When you purchase artwork on this website, you will be asked to enter your first and last name, your mailing address, and your email address. You will check out using PayPal. This is a secure payment system. It is necessary to make payments and invoicing possible via the internet. Your payment details are sent directly to this service from our secure payment environment, and that information is not shared with anyone other than the service and me. If you purchase a class you will be asked for your first and last name and your email address.

 

How we use your information

 

Newsletter (All Updates List): To email you if you have subscribed to my newsletter. You will receive regular emails with information and updates on future and current auctions, new art work, classes, and anything else that I think you would find valuable. You will only receive these emails if you have given me explicit permission by subscribing to my blog or newsletter.

 

For classes: I will use your email address to provide updates on classes if you signed up for my classes updates. If you sign up for a particular class, I will use your email to deliver the content and update you on an pertinent information on the class.

 

For sold artwork: I will use your email to communicate with you about your purchase. 

 

New Artwork List: If you sign up for my new art work list I will share new works of art with you and give you links for purchasing should you choose to take one of my pieces home.

 

For auction updates: I will use your email to update you on future and current auctions. During an auction, you will receive more updates than usual as I will be sending out the names of artists that are up for the day.

 

Third-party disclosure 

 

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties. 

 

We do share your information with trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business and servicing purchasers and visitors, such as our payment processors (Paypal and Stripe), our email service processor, etc. These trusted third parties agree to keep this information confidential. We will never share your personal information with unrelated third parties. 

 

We don’t store your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their own privacy policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

We will never sell or give away the information we collect to anyone other than to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, as required by law.

How long do we retain your data

We will retain your information for as long as you wish to be registered to our mailing list and as long as your customer account is active and you have not otherwise requested us to delete your information. 

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

They serve a variety of functions, like enabling us to remember certain information you provide to us as you navigate between pages on the website. If you have subscribed to my newsletter or other things that I share on my website, I will email you at the email address you sign up with to ensure that you are receiving all of the information promised to you. I use Madmimi as my newsletter service.

 

This means that Madmimi will receive your data to ensure that you receive the newsletters. However, this information is confidential unless you give me permission to share it in anyway. I will use this data for as long as you are a newsletter subscriber. If at any time you would like to stop receiving newsletters, you can unsubscribe by clicking on ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of any email that has been sent out to you.
